I always deflate tyres to reduce the amount of wet air held in the tyre.
If you want to be completely anal, deflate them in a warm room.
Yes I know they say warm air can hold more water. Ain't true.
Wet air can corrode any exposed alloy/magnesium in the rim and can make it almost impossible to un bead the tyres from the rims if left for long periods.
Just as the air receiver on a compressor condenses water from the air, so does an inflated tyre.
That's why you can 'see' the air in a tyre when you take the bead retainer out to let it down after blowing it on to the rim.
Wrap them in cling film to prevent the chemicals escaping from the surface of the compound and store them in a cool, dark place.
Tyre fitting outlets will try and get you to have Nitrogen inflations on your car tyres but unless they can completely purge any air in the tyre, it's pointless.
You can do it on kart tyres by removing the bead retainers to purge the air and keep the nitrogen on the valve while you replace the bead retainers.
Then you will have pure DRY 'air' in your tyres and the tyre pressures will be more stable.
Don't knock it unless you've actually done it.
Don't worry about the 'larger' Nitrogen molecule not being able to escape, it's the dry nitrogen that counts.
Make sure you shake out you tyre bags, turn them inside out to completely empty them of grit.
Why? Because when you put dirty tyres in a bag, the dirt can get into the valve core and get trapped under the seats, causing small air weeps.
It's a good idea to save those valve caps and put them on when the tyres are in bags, just in case dirt gets in.
Most of us never bother with valve caps at meetings, although we should. So it's worth just 'puffing' the valve before fully connecting the air line, just to hopefully blow out any grit.
