And therein lies the problem. When people who have such influence in Karting are saying that 40k a year is good value, we can't wonder why the money flying around is insane.
The logic around giving out licences for limited periods to IKR drivers is fundamentally flawed. I highly doubt it's the licence cost that puts people off, its when figures like this are being thrown around. Is the average IKR driver going to be interested in going MSA racing when they're hearing of people they potentially could be racing against spending 40 grand?!
I was fascinated to hear his opinion on gearbox Karting. I've always questioned his standing on gearbox at PF, especially since the extension I feel PF would be a fantastic circuit to drive a KZ on, but to a point I do understand where he's coming from. Just a shame that a man so obviously passionate and knowledgable in the sport feels that 40k is good value.
