Woah! That’s a terribly one-sided comment, d-i-y71.
These threads always concern me because they give (potential) newcomers such an atrocious view of karting / kart racing as a whole.
The answer is not to keep away from kart racing, but simply to keep away from where the F1 wannabees are racing.
This sport should have a clear demarcation between ‘amateur’ (which could be roughly defined as racing and practicing no more than, say, 12 times a year and with no big ‘team’ support as well as with just one chassis and one engine) and ‘professional’ (obviously not as in earning a living from it, but with big ‘team’ support, frequent testing, multiple engines and chassis).
It seems very likely that IKR and MSA, respectively, will come to represent these two very different camps.
To potential newcomers: you can absolutely avoid the type of racing being described here. There are plenty of options for those seeking clean racing; racing that you and your one and only chassis are likely to survive intact.
