Most of the views expressed here are pretty sensible, in my view, although they are stated from slightly different views of the position.

The ABkC‘s decision to allow driver representation should be welcomed.

The person attending should reflect the weight of the agenda and the feelings of the driver community.

So it would be better to send someone interested in X30, say, if thats where drivers have most issues than someone who is involved in cadets (for example).

Whoever goes should represent the spectrum of views they‘ve received on whatever the subject is.

It would be helpful if Clubs involved their own members in these issues too so that they can accurately represent the views of their members at ABkC meetings. If that happened, then there would be no need for driver representation in any event - the fact that the ABkC recognises the need for it demonstrates that they realise that the current decision making system doesn‘t accurately reflect what the drivers (and/or the parents!) want to see.

The current Committee system has been allowed to evolve by a karting community that has sometimes ignored and sometimes been excluded from the whole process.

Things won‘t change overnight, but the driver community can give the process some momentum in the right direction.
