Simon - do you how how the cameras work in S1? The rules and regs state that drivers must have a fully working go pro (of set specification) and also states that footage may be downloaded for use in evidence for CoC, Stewards or Motor Sport Council.
I remember that WSK made competitors buy the go pro case and mount but they supplied the cameras, put them on each kart, switched them on and removed them at the end of the heat.They obviously had full control but that does not appear to be the case with S1.
