The clutch wasn't broken, they had swapped engines before the race and the mechanic had forgotten to connect the clutch cable after.

Running costs are the same as or cheaper than rotax and i've done both. Just a larger initial outlay (which you get back come sale time)

Piston every 3 hours, diy job and about Ł60
Full rebuild every 10ish hours, Ł450
Tires same as rotax, new ones each meeting if you want to win on a competitive grid but a lot of the club lads get 2 meetings out of them.
