I need your help please folks...
Issue: 7 year old driver reports that turn-in on slicks too hard, on inters he's happy. How do I change the set-up to make turn-in easier on slicks?
More info: we've been practicing at Hooton on our Zip Kart with Comer W60 since September last year, looking to improve time to do IndiKart races there. For the last few sessions we've run on worn wets on wet rims. On Wednesday we had a good session, with better discipline to racing line, times coming down to consistent 50s/lap fastest were two in 49s. The day was very sunny, warm and bone dry track so I switched to slicks to see if we could find another couple of seconds. My driver did two laps on slicks but said he couldn't turn-in, it was too hard. The tyres were at 20psi, two spacers on each stub (one big one small I guess that's about 15mm) and the front end set-up was checked with lasers for a standard neutral set up I think slight negative camber.
What do we do to improve driveability? Does he just need to get used to slicks again after so long on inters? Increase or decrease spacers at front? Change camber, caster, toe?
