The kart will be worth a fortune as your lads FKS supercadet because your lad's going to get to F1 as FKS say in their marketing hence why they can charge so much for the package! Also double wammy your lad can pay you back for all the hard work any money in the karting years when he gets to F1. It's a no brainer really - so much so you could go to your bank manager with a sound business case to back your lad's route to F1.

Reality = don't buy into any of the bu*lsh*t, go karting at a level you can afford and be happy with and have fun, if your lad or lass turns out to be a special talent (or an offspring of an ex F1 driver or team owner) they may get noticed for the route to F1 but you'll still have to throw a few Ł100K at it to get them to a level where they may get noticed.
