The reason 20 year old engines are still able to race within fiche is because nobody was ever allowed to take a dremel to them and take them to within a thousandth of a mm of that fiche! Yes you can replace liners but as I said above, you will be paying serious money to the best builders to maximise them.

It will never be perfect, it's motorsport and people will always buy performance but the TKM regs mean you're buying tenths rather than whole seconds. Is there a mainstream class with better engine parity? And you want to change their rules?
