It's a difficult one really, the cadet and junior grids have always been small whereas the senior grids have since day 1 always been among the biggest in the country.

The reason for it? Don't know, most likely the points raised in karter28's original post. The restricted testing and race opportunities are more likely to appeal to a self funded senior driver than a junior driver for sure.

The move to IKR is very interesting, the reason for it is probably down to costs for running a meeting primarily, with the 2017 thing as the second "media friendly" reason.
