Thanks Simon, just what I was after - a practical reply from experience, and the mistakes that go with that ! I'll certainly rule out the GRP idea based on your advice. I may try the bin bag idea but I'll be wary of the lifting effect. My problem is not rib pain, it's physical friction burns on my 4rse which have just taken about 10 days for the scabs to drop off !!! I did have some stick on foam fitted previously, which made things much better but still not cured. I'm reluctant to fit the bolt on wings as I already have issues with the seat interfering with my arm movement, which is what set me off on the path of creating a better fitting seat in the first place.
