I agree that 5 mins is too short but if that is the case it is probably due to the fiasco created last year with the after you, no after you attitude with no one driver wanting to take to the circuit first and tow others.
The better solution would have been to close the pit lane after 60 seconds! If you are not out you don't quali! For those using the argument of limiting the laps on the tyres it's simple, do your time and pit.
I think its a bit of an f1 throwback believing the track will clean up or rubber in later. Yea right! With the amount of running done prior to quali the change if any would be at the very best minimal and less effect than a small passing cloud on a sunny day.
