Anyone who thinks that that can be achieved at a lower cost than the MSA club events is fooling themselves.

So your original post may have been misleading. The cost of registration might be Ł40 but there are much bigger expenses that will have to be paid for.

Now, it could be that each round will be more expensive than its equivalent club event or perhaps Rotax will elect to subsidise rounds until they can get advertisers to sponsor it. In the latter case, I would expect sponsors to demand that facilities are upgraded to be commercially attractive. Restaurants, clubhouses and grandstands that will impress their commercial customers and look good on TV rather than burger bars, standing at the trackside and portaloos. Net result a huge investment required by tracks which will limit the number of tracks able to put on a round.

And in the end, it will still be won by the teams with the biggest budgets, the IKR driver who can't afford to go MSA isn't going to get a look in if only because he hasn't a hope of matching the track time.

I've no doubt it can be sold as an attractive proposition, the "World Championship for Pennies" but ultimately it may well be bad for karting; almost certainly at the club and driver level. But as you so clearly state, Rotax don't give a damn about karting, it's merely a commercial opportunity to be exploited.
