Test an engine for a full day is the only way to be sure that the engine is good enough / worth the money. Don't trust anybody's word as every engine that is sold is "a brilliant little engine" Check to see if the child is still racing in Honda's and where they race as many people just want to get rid of their 3rd or 4th engine but charge a fortune. A cynical view or not but nobody out there selling an engine is doing you a favour!
