I wouldnt do any of the above till you know what you want yourself, sounds strange but the only way to know is to spend 3 or 4 weekends at a track running a race meeting, talk to as many other dads as you can - and mums too AND the kids in the seat, not just the front runners but the back markers too, listen to their woes, listen to their bravado and bullcrap and ignore 95% of it. you will learn more by listening to the talk at the track and then watching the races - then you will make your mind up easy - talk to some in the big glitzy awnings but also to the lad n dad tucked away at the end of the paddock. Youll soon see whats what. <My two penneth for what its worth,,,consider TKM Junior clubman for your first season, cheap as chips close racing, you will get on track without an ARKS faff about, and spend £500 to get going and be half decent, best of all at the end of the year you can sell it on for what it cost you. Cant beat that. If you want a more structured ease into it, try TWM Motorsport, Tim Wilson, he can hire you a jnr TKM outfit for the weekend, let you run under close supervision in the awning and show you the ropes. He can even source a kart when you are ready to but - no im not part of his team but know him well and did race with him last year, effectively. He runs at all the tracks you mention.
