Only if you use the kerbs as driving aids.

If Whilton do the proper thing and attack drivers who consistently use the kerbs, then people will stop using them.

Or were you thinking that if one can't hit a concrete wall one will try to drive faster because you may lose a shed load of time in departing from the track but you won't smash the kart?

It's a recurrent debate, some one deliberately using a safety area to gain an advantage is cheating. Someone regularly needing to use a safety area (not deliberately) is driving unsafely. Officials enforcing the track boundaries and MSA rules are beastly.
