Your son is following a well worn exit stratagy from karting.
Poss his mates are now leaving him out socially as he is always away with dad at weekends,,he has found GIRLS,poss drink and ciggys, next at 16 it will be a 50cc m/cycle or scooter,then a car at 17 ,Ł3000 to insure so offload finally after hoping he would go back into it(at a huge loss)the karting gear and subsidise the insurance .

After this its more girls,carries on with the drinking but not while driving !!,uni or staying on at college,if lucky enough to get a job then lives at home until 30 odd.
Just remember the good days you had from karting,this script is acted out quite often especially the last 18 months, 3 local drivers have follwed the script to th e letter.
I am very lucky,son is now 30,still racing,won again yesterday still as good as winning his first cadet race 22 yrs ago..
