Clearly, Vizard, you don't want (us) to discuss what we believe. That's your right. However..... if we want to.... then we will continue whether you like it or not. If you don't like what we say: tough.... don't read what we write!

However, your claimed position INSTANTLY goes out of the window when YOU join in the discussion about 'hopping'. You did EXACTLY what you claimed we shouldn't do..... that was spectacular in its hypocrisy!

On the subject of 'hopping', I assume you were NOT racing in the 1960's, 70's and 80's and I can ASSURE you I accurately described what the reaction felt like. Obviously, without one of my old chassis/engine/tyre combinations, I can't demonstrate this reaction, today. However, that IS what many of us witnessed, WAY back then.

How do I know what happened? Not only did I have it happen to me (weekly!!!) but I managed to STOP the reaction by widening the rear axle or lowering the CoG (as a standard 'fixes') which reduced the 'rolling moment' but I also FOLLOWED karts that were doing this and I can TELL you, I watched EXACTLY what I described.

In fact, many of us used to use it as a signal of when to overtake a 'hopping' kart. If you knew their kart was compromised by hopping on corner X, then the 'unscrupulous' (like me!) would give them a 'nudge....' on the next lap to 'assist' them on the way OFF line knowing that while their kart was so unstable was the PERFECT moment ....

My point was NOT that OUR use of the word 'hopping' describes the SAME thing for which people currently use the term or that we were RIGHT. Karts and tyres have changed enough so that what WE experienced as 'hopping' may not occur today and thus the term may NOT still mean the same thing!

So.... if YOU have a description of what's currently called 'hopping' then you would actually HELP us if you expressed it! I suspect WE don't think your views are not worth hearing!

The idea that it's not WORTH discussing handling with other 'amateurs' is plain LAUGHABLE! We may not get it 'right' but we can ALL learn from others: at least, I still can! The views of NikG, for example, are WELL worth marking and noting even if MINE are not!
