This will just go round and round as a discussion and never really make any progress. At the weekend, at Rowrah, a lot of overtaking done in the cadets was questionable, if not wrong, there was a heck of a lot of foul language used by parents, after some place changes, a lot of ranting, accusing, anger petty finger pointing, all done in front of loads of spectators and also kids. The outcome wasn't changed in most cases, but the image of arguing adults seen by the kids, some of whom were earlier Bambino competitors, was implanted in there minds and perhaps they might just think its the norm.
My lad was taking out twice, once on the rolling start having just taken the lead. I duly went to see the steward sitting in his green box above the chicane. The first words he mentioned when i said what had happened was, " well, its impossible to watch everyone, to see who pushed who". I knew from that moment it was a waste of time. Maybe there should be a minimum gap rule applied the the rolling starts of say a metre? either way, the MSA who are running the event, are clearly saying they cannot do the job, police it properly, and really they cannot make the rules applied at the start of this year work. Lets face it, even the great drivers briefing speeches by the mustached wonder at PF have never really been applied fairly, who's not come away from there being really fed up at least once this year,, and they have full track side cameras to draw upon. .. If the teacher at your kids school turned round and said they couldn't watch and teach everyone in your kids class something would get done, the council would give the school more staff, of the rules would be changed. We all know that the officials in the msa or at least most of them, do not get paid much, and most of the ones at the circuits, do it as volunteers, thank you. But i for one is sick of the unfair playing field and utter drivel that is spoken at drivers briefings, which is then not delivered upon throughout the day. Its obvious the tool isn't working, its not the officials fault, it just can not be controlled, so change it,clean it up, alter it, get something in place that they can watch over with a few volunteers.. stop allowing them to push, load etc etc MAKE IT NON CONTACT...it works better in all other Circuit racing.
