What it be a surprise to anybody if I said that both the blue book and the gold book make no mention of contact driving? In fact, they make very little mention of driving standards at all.
Generally, when you are penalised for a driving offence it will be under:
1.1.5. Driving in a manner incompatible with general safety, and/or departing from the standard of a reasonably competent driver.
12.5.3 and 12.5.4 deal with leaving the track.
Section Q14 deals with being passed and passing.
Nowhere in the blue book nor gold book does it say, "Karting is a non-contact sport". Nowhere does it say about pushing. Nowhere does it say about "who has the corner". All of this stuff is left to the club and officials to determine and, if they are silent on the subject, the drivers to determine by consensus.
