Just picked up a second hand storm chassis to use as a spare.
The chassis has been checked and is 'straight'. However, on setting up the front end with lasers, there seems to be +5 degrees of camber built into the steering yokes. This measurement is equal on both sides. I can set the camber back to neutral with the camber adjuster pills. The original chassis that we have is pretty neutral.
The spare has a number in the low 200's stamped on it with the other (original) being in the low 400's.
Did Zip change the basic chassis setup with regard to flexibility and front end setup throughout the production run of the Storm, or have I got hold of a complete 'lemon' ? Has anybody found any advantageous effects of running a more positive camber with this chassis ?
I am going to check what happens when the driver is on board tomorrow to see if the chassis flexes back to nearer neutral when weighted up.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated before I waste too much time on possibly flogging a dead horse !
