During our time in cadets it was quite normal for the leading driver to signal to the driver behind to push him down the straight. The kid behind will always be quicker because he's in the draft, and therefore be able to push the pair away from the chasing pack. Never had an issue with the CoC as it seemed to be accepted.

Since leaving cadets and now in Junior Max, I still see it happening, just less often.

I think sometime rules are 'guidelines'.
