There is no need to go into a team in the first year, unless you have plenty of money to waste & you can't be bothered to learn the basics.

Your chassis (Arrow AX9) is superb for a new cadet driver. You only need two setups at this stage "wet n dry", you can fiddle with sprockets and tyre pressures if you want.

You and your son will learn so much without realising it in the first year. But the best advice is to keep cool at all times and not pressure your son, just have fun racing.

In two years time you may want to think again about a team, if you have the budget and have caught the cadet parent bug.

My boy and I have been a dad n lad team and still are sometimes, we have also been with RL, Fusion and raced with factory teams. But to be honest the best (& worst) times we've had is when we go racing as dad n lad.
