Hi 1.15 as a novice just passing his arks is good but the very fast kids are doing high 1.06 and the average is 1.08 its a big difference you need to have fun learning and then when you are ready then take on pfi as there grids contain at least 15 of the super 1 boys then there are 20 boys who want to aspire to get to super 1 most if not all will be lapping in under 1.10. Im just saying you dont want to demoralise him by racing pfi try say bayford or kimbolton they have great grids and there are always plenty of novices for him to race against and learn his race craft. If he is the only novice at pfi and he starts at the back with a rolling start and the lenght of the track within 5 laps he could be shown blue flags and being lapped thats not the start to his racing carreer you would want he needs other novices around him to learn.
