All that was exactly as I expected...

No-one INDEPENDENT (that we have found) is saying that neck braces of ANY sort are a REAL safety measure in Karting except the South African equivalent of our RAC/MSA.

The manufacturers of at least one of the neck braces will TELL us that they DO improve safety. As an old man now, I can still remember when, if you listened to the MANUFACTURER, they'd tell you that CIGARETTES were a HEALTH AID! Don't believe me? OK look at this for an example:-

Obviously, I don't think that neck braces equate to the dangers of cigarettes! It's just that I hope we know to treat manufacturer's claims with a bit of incredulity!

As I have said 500 times on this subject:-

It's your money, your neck: YOU choose.... while remembering that there is NO independent proof of improved safety that we can find, so far.

That's been my position from the first time this came up, YEARS ago.

Why is that position SO appalling to some people???

Why SHOULDN'T we be saying these things????

I simply don't get it!
