We really wanted to race, but only if it is safe. Fulbeck called off a race in Nov a couple of years ago; after a load of work the track was ok to race on, but off track was frozen solid and the tyres / barriers the same and frozen together. So if you left the track at speed - no slow down at all and hit the barrier as though it was a wall. For that reason it was called off. I can imagine Wombwell was the same.

So good call and good early call too - it's worse if you load up and get there for it to be called off.
