Just do one race a month then and one practice and you have instantly halfed your costs.

I have never had the budget to do two championships and stayed in racing and have never spent more than 2k and have won a few trophys and been placed in two club championships one as a driver and one as a mechanic.

You really can do well on a small budget if you box clever, look after your gear and spend wisely.
