The 2mm is at the race end as it is impossible to estimate wear rate in certain conditions. Indeed I have worn a new set to below 2mm in a rapidly drying 15 min final.Interestingly it was not even an incorrect choice to start on wet as those that took the gamble did not stay on on the black stuff long enough to make it to the drying period.
