How a brand new company or designer would begin other than taking inspiration from previous karts, i am not sure. But when a current chassis manufacturer looks at designer a new design to a frame(not layout like what maranello did), it just requires a great deal of testing with a lot of experience and knowledge in order to create something that is better than competing manufacturers.
