Danlee, I absolutely see your point about having a test in a new chassis to see how that compares - that is easily the best way to eliminate the issue; you can get set it up as you would run your own and effectively do a 'back-to-back' comparison, but
without that option are there likely to be signs that say any more fiddling with set up is a waste of time and the only way to get the consistency required is to invest in new

...........or, does it just come down to a time thing which you seem to have made a decision on by your comment about "being in the same boat for next season" (thats not in any way a 'dig' at your comment)
it does seem that most people consider changing due to time but is that the only reason to do it or can you actually get to a point where the signs are there to indicate it has now gone beyond the point of trying to get the best out of it?

Getting back to our own experience, the 2010 Tonykart EVR we run has had minimal use and I am as confident as I can be that it is previously undamaged, so that aspect can be eliminated. I can set it up the same way compared to how it ran in similar conditions previously and expect it to be delivering as before, but then the feedback from driver says this is not good and that is not as good as before and so on, so changes are made and 2 sessions later you have got a totally different set up compared to a quick kart that you had previously....

all ideas welcome!!!!!!!!!
