BFD, I think your notion is completely flawed.
Take this example... Last year my son was competing in cadets (FKS & Super1), he was 12 5'7" tall and 6-7kg over class weight. We had to work very hard on kart setup and my son had to use all his experience and driving skill to race. He had a very succesful years racing and he worked very hard. Now I know for a fact that any 8 year old who has had some training and practice could be much faster than my son if he had no weight on the kart. My sons skill and experience would'nt mean anything, the little 8 year old would drive off into the distance. My 8 year old daughter was much faster going round genk than my son, now she has very little experience, but 25kg makes a huge difference.
Any cadet parent past or present with any experience will tell you, its not age or size that makes a fast and succesful racing driver. A lot of factors are involve and you have to work very hard over a long time to acheive success. Taking your lead off the kart will make your son faster, but will it make him a better racer.
