I agree that the tire pressure can affect heat distribution, but wouldn't higher tire pressures lead to hotter tires and thus slow that kart down after some laps?
My 8-year old is too slow to get any wheel lift and runs high tire pressures to get some heat into those tires, yet the inner part of his rear tires are noticeably hotter than the outer part.
A coincidence maybe that an experienced driver with not enough release and a novice with not enough grip both have more heat on the inner parts of the rear tires.
In any case, thanks for your advice, we will need to do some testing with tire pressures to find out.
