The primary arguement against 2 strokes is environmental, burning up castor oil isn't particularly nice, albeit when one considers the volumes it's insignificant. When with Indy cars in the 90's we messed about with methanol as a 2 stroke fuel with corresponding reduction in power (lower BTU's) but simple emmissions test did show reductions in nasties. 2 stroke technology hasn't really moved on from what fell over the Berlin wall in the 50's, as the big motorcycle manufacturers decided to pour their billions into 4 stoke development, but if you look at what has progressed with marine applications it only goes to show what could be achieved if the incentive was there. How's that for a challenge Honda...........
