Is it worth changing cadet chassis?

We are currently running an 09 Project One honda cadet and my son is now getting up to the front of the grid.
I may have the option in the near future to potentially move to a new chassis.
So my question is - does a new chassis make any difference? we currently run 16kg of lead so lightness is not an issue.
Should i keep with the 09 and keep the cash for other bits?
Would you expect a newer chassis to help deliver better times or doesn't it make much diffence?
Would it be better to save some cash and try and pickup a year old setup?
What do people think are the best chassis for a dad & lad team? I think the primary options are sticking with Project One or look to the Shark, Octane or Zip perhaps?
I can't afford the luxury of running in a team every race weekend so want something that i can setup and run myself
Appreciate your thoughts
