As John says, it has to be nickel/bronze, not silicon/bronze (vastly inferior), and you have to live with the heat spread causing more paint damage and the hassle of removing the flux residue before painting (unless a gas fluxer is used). Bear in mind though: it is not a cure-all.....the larger bronze weld fillet may push out beyond the heat damaged zone, or it may not! It cannot restore the original properties! Additional plating, to spread the load may be the best solution.
