"The amount of classes is watering down the numbers and the rising cost is flushing the rest away, FACT."
It isn't FACT at all, it is an opinion.
I've talked to lots of potential karters and none of them has said that they were prevented from starting by the choice of classes available. So to claim that the number of classes affects the overall number karting is probably inaccurate.
The truth is that there are a lot of different activities for people to take up and karting is only one of them. Most people can satisfy their desire to kart at the hire and drive circuits for less money than it takes to get an MSA licence and do a years karting for the same price as getting their own kart.
People don't take up karting for a lot more complex reasons than the fact that they are confused by the choice of kart.
