Oh I fully agree with you....it seems a bit harsh however as drivers we all know the rules, or we should do!...the MSA are only enforcing the rules that we sign up for, yes drivers have probably gone to the ack as a novice and seen people take that line, but the softly softly approach doesnt work....I've been around marshalling/stewarding and driving for long enough to have seen track put more run off in, then take it away, change kerbs, grass Crete etc....and none of it works to stop drivers breaking the rules....the only thing that has worked is penalising them on the track

Yes it sounds harsh, and I fully agree in the way that it was done was probably a bit insensitive but drivers can't complain about marshals and clerks who are only enforcing the rules....

....what's next, drivers complaining that engine checks are being completed thoroughly.....you can't have it both ways and pick the rules that suit you!
