Coming back to this thread, I'm presently surprised, fot the first time it seems that some people are starting to see the light. Still a selection of people posting with vested interest and or no clue. But the bottom line is that those of us in the real world understand that karting for kids has become a world of business and money and has virtually nothing left for 'normal' people. The arguments along the lines of 'rich people will do this or that to skirt the regs' are spurious. Bottom line it is up to the MSA to put systems in place to make kids racing fair and equal. It's not rocket science, just needs some sensible solutions. As for Honda, the only thing that seperates it from Comer is that big money isn't interested, if it became 'THE' cadet class, I believe the problems would be even greater than Comer.

The difference with my perspective is that I've literally seen the future. In France I've seen how an inept and probably corrupt federation has decimated karting in only 5 years of stupid commercial decisions. Where making money has become the only criteria.

New parts with a homolagation stamp on it at 4 times the price of the otherwise identical unstamaped part.

Then in a class where the seal is supposed to remain on for a whole season, I've seen and been asked to work on engines, (being run by a team with a sealing agency), between heats.

The final icing on the cake, a completely new cadet class with sealed engines at 2000€ a go. Announced only weeks before the new season. Result? Nobody racing.

I for one hope the MSA pull a rabbit out the hat with the cadet decision, but I wouldn't bet on it.
