Just out of interest, I've been on the receiving end of the loading which is not only dangerous but costly, and can ruin the potential success of a weekend in an instant.

Although I welcome any suggestions to make it better, I can't see how leaving the gap makes it any better... that gap can be closed under braking. If we're suggesting gaps should be left all the way through the first corner, doesn't that take away experience karting gives of the all-important first corner battle for positions. Even without contact there's a lot to be gained or lost in the first corner....
