....I have just read this news storey, and feel a little perturbed by it. First let me say that I have no personal connection or interest in it whatsoever. But as a general principle, I have to say that I think the ruling stinks!
I had always been of the belief, that mid-season MSA rulings/clarifications/rule changes were only valid until the end of the season, and that if they were not included in the blue book for the new season, they were no longer applicable. Otherwise people new to the sport, or changing to a new class, in years post the bulletin issue, are oblivious to them and therefore at best may be at a performance disavantage or at worst could be at risk of disqualification for non compliance, for something which they could not possibly be aware of! Nowhere, that I am aware of, is there a rule saying that we are running to the blue book plus bulletin numbers XYZ.
