sorry buzzin but im not wrong as a trainee clerk of the course I shadowed the stewards and CoC of this years rally and have a copy of the relevent parts of the act of parament required to alow this rally to run on closed UK roads.

I also spent a whole day in the "Road Close" Car being driven around the stages oficialy closing the roads as req by the act the driver was the lawyer who negotioated this act for the jim clerk orginisers.

as i said in my last post the MSA are currently negotioation to allow other motorsport events to run on UK closed roads.

PS where did i say closed road motorsport still had to obey speed regs. the act suspends the road traffic act for the duration of the stages when the oficial "Road close" car passes and only hands back the road to the road traffic act when the "road open" car passes. all very complicated and tied up in leagal stuff.
