From the video it is easy to see why a red flag came out although i would have expected it earlier. The track is blocked and some karts had to cut the corner to avoid the crash - although others managed to plough right in.
You then have some karts still on the track whilst others are on the grass and one driver looking to be in danger while staning in the corner holding up the rear of his kart.
With the race between 25% and 75% complete the options are all in U 7.9.2 and it looks as if the final decision was to abandon the race with results based on the last full lap before the race was stopped. it is not clear from the video if the race was stopped on lap 15 or 16 but from the results it looks as if it must have been lap 15 with results based on lap 14?
Has a restart been decided then karts involved in the accident could be included so long as the CoC and Chief Scrutineer were satisfied that the karts could continue without repair (U 7.10.2). the driver would also have to be passed as fit by the medical team (hopefully stops any attempt to get a red flag for a faked injury).
Looked like a good race before the accident.
