I duck my head on the straights, and i used to think it was because of aero etc, but it isn't at all. Maybe it makes a tiny difference to aero, but not noticible.

As far as i am concerend, the biggest advantage is releasing the weight off the back axle to allow it to run free and give better release.

But as others have said it is key to driver confidence and style. It gives you that mental boost to push on to the next kart and overtake him.
