Having raced with one of the 'big' teams for 3 years and now back to working on our own there are a number of points to look out for when looking to go in with one of the teams.
Look around the awning at the faster drivers. If you are not as fast as them already, you will pay a premium. The faster drivers rate is normally lower than the rest of the awning. Check fuel rate, as again, some charge a flat fee others spread it between the drivers. ( Can be expensive if only a couple of drivers go to a meeting 250 miles from the truck base!!)You will get harrassed to do as much track time as possible. Set your budget and stick to it. Get them to organise your track time and tell them you will not be able to do more than your budget allows. Only real advantage with a team is data comparison and possible transportation of your kit if you choose to let them have your equipment. Other than that, as many people say on here, if you can test frequently you will get up to these teams but it just takes longer.
