thats interesting everybody seems to have different thoughts on this one , we used to run a birel brake on my sons evx but when i bought him an evr we left the standard brake on with otk pads and he hated it said there was no feel to them either locked or not stopping so after a lot of investigation i fitted ferodo pads on the advice of dk and he now says the brakes are beter than birel with more feel.i drove the kart myself and would say brakes are still not quite as good as birel but do have more feel and definately a big improvement on otk pads.
