This is an issue with any manufactured items and the manufacturers allowable tolerance.

However in the case of Dellorto jets it is NOT a problem as you should use only your set of jets and in that way any tolerance is not an issue or should I say it would always be the same step richer/weaker between your set.

Your experience does illustrate just how critical correct jetting is when a change of 0.02mm in jetting makes the difference.
