I bought a set of the early Bridgestones, around 1977/78, and first used them at Rye. I actually found them to be an unnerving experience to use, and did not enjoy them. As you say, the problem was that the limit of cornering was denoted by the inside wheels lifting (without any warning), and if you didn't back off & turn out of it quick enough, you would roll! Of course, the axles and hubs of the day were not long enough to cope with the grip. But so far as this argument goes, I'm with Itpro, as proven by many wins with a box stock Comer 60 fitted with Dunlop DSA tyres!
