They should use the WTB B5 with restrictor removed as a replacement for the W60. Why? For the following reasons, 1)They were designed specifically for kart racing thus new out of the box they are all very close in performance to one another(unlike comer) 2) We found our engine and carb to be much, much, much more reliable than the comer with no problems what so ever during the 18 months we raced it. 3)We never needed to take a plug and spanner onto the grid or miss a session because we could not start it! 4)TAG say no more....Oh and our pilot who had only been racing for 18 months beat the comer lap record at Kimbolton on our very first visit with the engine as it was originally designed ie with restritor out(it was a practice session not in a race!)amongst a handful of fks and super one cheque book racers whos parents/teams had probably spent several times the amount we did (£800ish new) for "that special engine" The LGM was and still is a great, AFFORDABLE national series,it's a pity it's coming to and end after 2011? Considering all of the above cost and performance advantages I can't understand why these engines didn't catch on in a much bigger way.Im sure that when i say we want to race on a level playing field and sensible budget that most other parents feel the same way, surely we cannot achieve this if engines are not sealed? is using pooled motors the way to go were I think you get allocated a motor for the day and you can request to swap with another competitor if you think their engine is stronger? Has anyone done races using pooled motors?
