We have bought 3 new tonykarts over the past few years. All were supplied with dot 5 (silicon based brake fluid). We had no end of problems with our brakes as silicon attacks rubber seals. We emptied the fluid out and replaced all our seals and changed to the highest grade of non silicon based fluid which is dot 5.1, we now have a reliable low maintenance tonykart brake. Remember you can mix dot 5.1 with dot 4 but not dot 5. I asked a top team why they use dot 5 in their karts and they said the other fluids can boil under heavy braking. Personally I think this could only happen in a gearbox or extremely high speed class such as KF1. I personally will never run dot 5 as it has given me so many problems and cost us many heartaches. I refer to it as pink sh*t
