Tabor used to have them up to 80mm long.

However, the simplest route is to buy a metre of 32mm Nylon 66 rod from Plastics online and drill an 8 or 10mm hole in it.

A lathe is the best tool, but it can be done with a drill press.

Of course, it can be rather difficult to get either of those at the track, which was why Tabor carried the long ones as spares.
